Environmental Science and Engineering

Description

Students majoring in environmental science and engineering investigate the relationships between scientific understanding, legal frameworks, and technical solutions for some of the most urgent environmental issues facing the planet today. The foundation of this program is the idea that the environment is a complex system of chemical, physical, and biological processes that are made even more so by the numerous social activities that take place in society. Students gain an integrated understanding of complex environmental issues throughout their curriculum by using a variety of techniques, including theory, modelling, experiments, and observations.
