Description

This course at Maryland is intended to give you access to the most recent research as well as the intellectual underpinnings for a career in public service leadership, whether in the public sector, commercial sector, or nonprofit organizations providing public services. A combination of abilities is necessary for career paths to leadership in various sectors, including knowledge of the larger public service context, the economics of public services, governance, transparency, and performance management, as well as leadership, management, and financial competencies. Leaders in the public sector must also possess a specialized understanding of the policies and services they oversee.
