Theology

Description

The study of religion from “inside,” or theology, often takes place, and many people who pursue theological degrees are devout followers of the faith they study. Students in this discipline typically research religions while attempting to maintain objectivity about the issue of their veracity. Religious studies have a tendency to be more historical and sociological in their approach. The course work may serve as preparation for a doctoral degree in religion or a closely related topic, or it may be used to approach a different field or profession—such as law, journalism, public policy, education, the arts, or medicine—from a theologically informed angle.
