The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Maryland’s School of Engineering awards a Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering Sciences — Electrical Engineering. Maryland State University’s electrical engineers are working on a variety of projects, including diamond nanofabrication, quantum devices, millimeter-scale robots, hardware for machine learning, the optimization of smart power grids and other networked systems, deciphering brain signals and mapping brain circuits, extracting information from sizable stochastic datasets, and the fundamental bounds of private sharing of information.
